NBA Betting Outlook: Hot Mavs head to L.A.

Riding a winning streak of five games, Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks will be looking to pay off for their supporters on the NBA betting lines this week as they begin a road trip with a pair of games in Los Angeles.

The Mavericks begin their schedule for the week on Monday night at the Staples Center against the Lakers, a team they swept in the postseason last year. Dallas also managed to cover the spread at online sportsbooks such as Bovada in those four postseason meetings with Kobe Bryant and company in 2011.

That has Dallas sitting at 6-4 both straight up and against the spread in their last 10 games against the Lakers, with the OVER/UNDER going 7-3 in those 10 meetings.

The Mavs will then remain in Los Angeles for a game on Wednesday night against the Clippers, a team they have beaten 10 straight times over the past three seasons. Dallas also went a healthy 6-3-1 against the spread in those 10 games, with the OVER/UNDER at 5-5. The OVER has paid off in each of the last three matchups.

Dallas will then complete their road trip this week with games in Utah on Thursday night and in New Orleans on Saturday night.

The Lakers will get a two-day break after hosting Dallas on Monday, but they'll have to travel east for back-to-back games against the Heat and Magic in Florida on Thursday and Friday night. The Lakers are 5-5 SU and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games against Miami, and 6-4 SU and 6-4 ATS in their last 10 games against Orlando.

The Clippers will be playing their third game in three nights when they host the Mavericks on Wednesday night; they'll also get a visit from the Nets on Monday night, and they'll be in Utah to take on the Jazz on Tuesday. The Clippers have won just once and covered the spread only twice in their last 10 meetings with Utah.

And Heat supporters at online sportsbooks such as Bovada will get four chances to wager on their team this week as they look to get themselves out of a skid – Miami has a four-game homestand against the Spurs (Tuesday), Lakers (Thursday), Sixers (Saturday), and Bucks (Sunday). Miami is 6-4 SU and 5-5 ATS in its last 10 games against Milwaukee.
